Black Cat

From Lies of P Wiki

Black Cat is a character in Lies of P.

Background

Black Cat, who's real name is Lucio, was a member of the Sweepers. He joined them as an apprentice Stalker and was noted to regularly ignore ranks and neglect his duties. He would come into contact with Red Fox, a member of the Bastards, and the Sweepers launched an investigation due to suspicion that he was leaking secrets to her. Black Cat then lied about being Red Fox's long lost brother. Red Fox knew he was lying but accepted him anyway and claimed that he was a bastard from her family. Both of them would leave their respective groups and began working together instead. At some point Black Cat contracted the Petrification Disease and began to lose his eyesight. After the two of them lost all their money attempting to treat him, they joined with the Alchemists, who promised a cure.

Interactions

Chapter III

Black Cat and Red Fox can be encountered at the Workshop Union Culvert. Approaching the pair will prompt a line from Red Fox.

Red Fox Ooh! Admirers seem to follow me everywhere.

Geppetto's puppet can then interact with them for additional dialogue.

Red Fox

Pleased to see you, my Stalker friend.

Black Cat

You made it all the way here unbothered by ruffians! You've got talent.

I've never seen you before, but who cares?

Red Fox

This may well benefit our former client.

Did you catch that subtle whiff of money in the air?

Moneybags himself, Lorenzini Venigni, is inside the factory this very moment.

Black Cat

You caught us on our return trip.

We had to deny his ridiculous request in person just to be sure it wasn't a joke!

All we could do was laugh.

Red Fox

Keep your whiskers up if you're heading in there.

He *is* the richest man in Krat! Or so they say.

Who knows? Maybe he's handing out bags of money to lift his spirits!

Black Cat

That seems...unlikely. No way are we doing that.

Red Fox

Well, anyhow, best of luck!

Talking to Black Cat after that initial conversation will provide Geppetto's puppet the option to purchase the Ripped Venigni's Krat Landmark Guide III from him.

Black Cat

Are you carrying the latest edition of Venigni's Landmark Guide?

It's the most popular nonfiction work in Krat these days.

Medoro wrote the actual guide, but Venigni published and financed.

It goes for a premium at the shop, but Medoro might not get his cut.

He went missing recently.

Which, of course, made that volume more popular than ever.

If you can get all three volumes that collectors want...

Bet you can get four...no five thousand for it at the shop.

But you're in luck! I have a conscience *and* a powerful sense of self-preservation.

I'll let this one go for five hundred.

That's a good invesment...don't sleep through it!

You'll wish you had this, and the price is a steal.

Let me know if you have any interest?

Talk to Black Cat after purchasing Ripped Venigni's Krat Landmark Guide III results in the dialogue:

Black Cat

I know a smart bargainer when I see one, and you... really are something.

I'm sure you'll regret nothing.

Talk to Black Cat after reading Ripped Venigni's Krat Landmark Guide III results in the dialogue:

Black Cat

So, have you had time to read it? It is the first volume I wrote, so go easy.

By the way, I need to mention something before it slips my mind.

It's a shame that the original author went missing,

but I fear you misunderstood this commitment.

I am willing to sell *my* newest book for 500.

No refunds, of course. That's a given.

But look on the bright side-that volume of the series is not easy to acquire.

Talking again gives dialogue:

Black Cat Take care you don't get torched.
